For international students who graduate with skills and qualifications and lodge a 485 visa application between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023 won’t need to nominate a skilled occupation or have applied and subsequently obtained a positive skills assessment in this occupation. They won’t need to meet the closely related criteria either. However, they still need to meet the Australian Study Requirement and have completed an eligible qualification in Australia. A visa in this stream will be granted for 24 months.
For graduates who applied for their initial student visa application and had their visa granted after 5th November 2011. Must have studied a Bachelor, Master or PhD in Australia and meet the Australian study requirement. A visa in this stream will be granted for either 36 or 48 months.
The Skilled Independent Visa allows highly skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer, State or Territory, or family member to live and work permanently in Australia. If you wish to apply for this visa, you must first obtain a positive full skills assessment for your nominated occupation and lodge an EOI. Upon receiving an invitation, you will be invited to lodge the 189 visa application.
The Skilled Nominated Visa allows highly skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian State or Territory to live and work permanently in Australia. If you wish to apply for this visa, you must first obtain a positive full skills assessment for your nominated occupation, then lodge an EOI and State or Territory sponsored nomination. If your nomination is successful, you will receive an invitation to lodge the subclass 190 visa application.
The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa has 2 streams which allow skilled workers to live, work, and study in a designated regional area in Australia for 5 years.
State & Territory Regional Nominated Stream: This stream requires you to first obtain a positive full skills assessment for your nominated occupation, and lodge an EOI and State or Territory sponsored nomination if you meet their requirements. If your nomination is successful, you will receive an invitation to lodge the subclass 491 visa application.
Eligible Relative Sponsored Stream: This stream requires you to be sponsored by an eligible relative who is usually resident in a ‘designated regional area’ of Australia. You then must also obtain a positive full skills assessment for your nominated occupation, and lodge an EOI. Upon receiving an invitation, you will be invited to lodge the 491 visa application.
